What is Schedule NEM?
Schedule NEM (or Net Energy Metering) allows energy-users to receive credits from their utility company for helping to produce some of their own energy. A special utility meter is installed along with a small amount of energy-producing equipment. As excess energy is produced and sent back to the utility grid, participating energy-users receive credits that they can use in the nighttime.
A CUIC energy consultant will let you know if you may be a good fit for Schedule NEM.
The Net Energy Meter
The NEM meter is the same size as your current meter. With few exceptions, it is installed next to your current meter. It records the extra energy your home sends to the utility grid enabling you to receive energy credits which lower your energy bill.
How is Schedule NEM implemented?
Implementing Schedule NEM is simple. Professionals who work with the program install, insure, and pay all fees to get the energy-user’s property ready for Schedule NEM. Your job is to simply let us know you are there and ready to go. A Schedule NEM program can have numerous benefits such as capping your energy rates, reducing your energy bill, increasing your home value, and cleansing the energy flowing through your walls. CUIC energy consultants will help you receive the maximum benefit of your utility’s Schedule NEM discount program. They also work very efficiently.
Did you know…
California’s utility companies operate as small monopolies regulated by the State of California. As such, they need permission from the state to set prices and are often required to offer discounts and benefits to their energy-users under various programs. Since electric bills fund these programs, energy-users pay for them whether they are benefiting from them or not. So if you can benefit from one or more, you definitely deserve it.
Evolve with solar.
Solar works with Schedule NEM and can produce the energy you need for your home. A number of programs currently allow homeowners to go solar at no cost and pay less than their current energy bill. We can help you find the best plan for you and guide you from start to finish.
